Roland Fanega

I am a filmmaker based in Chicago, Illinois.

Visual storytelling was a self-discovered passion that was formed over years of online media consumption, cinema studies, and my inability to not have a screen in front me. At a young age, I had a genuine gravitation toward capturing moments. With a small camera in hand, I filmed and photograph everything I could. As I grew older, I found deeper purpose for the files in my memory cards. I made stories out of them. After thousands and thousands of moments captured, I found myself with a BA in Cinema and Television Arts from Columbia College Chicago.

My experience as a filmmaker started in narrative short films and stretches through vérité documentary filmmaking, live music performance videography and photography, wedding videos, as well as commercial work and short form content.

I have grown and expanded my skills through internships with Beti Films, an independent documentary film company, OX Creative, a visual content and brand strategy firm based in Elgin, IL, and Sofar Sounds, a company curating live music events around the world.

My last full-time position was lead videographer & video editor for PryorHealth, an aesthetics practice located in Rockford, IL.
